| Cost Effectiveness on Building Construction Safety Measures and Regime for Hong Kong
CII-HK and The University of Hong Kong have joined hands for the first time on a much needed research project to investigate "Cost Effectiveness of Building Construction Safety Measures and Regime for Hong Kong". The research task force chaired by Mr. Patrick W T Chan accepted the proposal submitted by the research team led by Prof Steve Rowlinson of The University of Hong Kong. This research is to identify factors leading to construction accidents and to evaluate the impact of various safety measures on the cost effectiveness of the safety regime. The findings will include but not limited to the appraisal and ranking of the factors which should particularly receive immediate attention in effort and monetary terms, and justify the cost effectiveness of implementing various safety measures for the local regime.
To mark the commitment of both sides to this project, the two parties entered into a research agreement at an official signing ceremony held at Foreign Correspondentsˇ¦ Club on 9 November 2006.
