Construction Safety Involving Working at Height for Residential Building Repair and Maintenance

This study is a collaborative research project between the CII-HK and the PolyU aiming at improving construction safety involved in working at heights in residential building repair, refitting and maintenance works. It sets out to identify situations where such works are necessary and to investigate the causes of any associated accidents and problems. The objective of the research is to recommend practical, cost-effective and user-friendly technological solutions to tackle such problems, as well as recommend precautionary measures to prevent the occurrence of associated accidents.

To mark the commitment of both sides to this project, the two parties entered into a research agreement at an official signing ceremony held at PolyU on 24 February 2005.

The first meeting between the research task force and the research team was convened on 17 March 2005 at the Headquarters of Henderson Land Development Co Ltd at Two International Finance Centre.
