Research and development (R&D) has been one of the main driving forces for improvements in the construction industry. Over the years, many innovative construction technologies, materials, design concepts, management practices, research ideas/findings and patents have been put forwarded and employed in practice. Yet, little has been done to spread/share the experience, know-how, success/failure examples, and so on amongst various construction stakeholders. With the advancement in information technologies especially the widespread usage of Internet, knowledge and information can now be managed and exchanged more effectively. The objective of this R&D platform is to allow practitioners and researchers to have the first-hand knowledge and information on construction R&D and to facilitate feedback, comments and discussions, so as to uplift the current practice and increase the competitiveness of all construction stakeholders.
